The El Supremo Windbag Numero Uno (Hugo Chavez) yet again held court over an adoring crowd of quasi-Marxists and wannabe princes. His speech was a 45 minute tirade against capitalism and the United States, to which the assembled crowd gave long standing ovations. Let this remove any doubt that this Copenhagen "conference" and the "man-made climate change" movement has anything to do with saving the environment, and everything to do with the implementation of a worldwide Socialist agenda and the lining of the pockets of leftist politicians and oligarchs.
They are all watermelons: green on the outside, red on the inside.

Some gems from the Chavez rant:
Climate change (caused by developed nations) is the cause of AIDS, poverty and war.
“Our revolution seeks to help all people…socialism, the other ghost that is probably wandering around this room, that’s the way to save the planet, capitalism is the road to hell....let’s fight against capitalism and make it obey us.” (This is when he received a standing ovation.)
I think the Toronto Star put it best:
"It was a somewhat odd stance to take, however, as the central issue here is how much money the rich industrialized nations will pledge to help the poor ones keep their growth clean and contend with the effects of global warming."
So I guess Chavez and his ilk expect their billions in "aid" money to be generated by the fumes from all the failed hopes and dreams of Communism. And honestly, how much of that money do you think the warlords, dictators, and corrupt plutocrats of many third world nations will spend on "clean" technology and global warming initiatives?
One of the worst leaders in history, Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe (where socialist-policy caused inflation soared to over 231,000,000%), also took to the podium to denounce capitalism and developed nations:

It's the height of absurdity that some of the worst and most-opressive leaders in the world take to the podium to denounce free countries and blame them for "global warming" while these crackpots destroy their own nations. Hypocrisy on parade. Orwell would have had a field day with this group of nutcases and spineless wimps in Europe.
